At San Diego Comic-Con, Amazon unveiled details about Season 3 of The Rings of Power, featuring the Balrog from The Lord of the Rings series, voiced by Simon Pegg. The encounter between the Balrog and Sauron showcases the Dark Lord wielding the Iron Crown of Morgoth, a departure from Tolkien's original text.
The upcoming season will also introduce the Nazgnagôl, the precursor to the Nazgûl, shedding light on the origins of the Ringwraiths. Season 3 is set to premiere on November 11, 2026, with subsequent episodes releasing weekly.
Middle-earth is depicted in a state of war in Season 3, with Sauron's forces advancing towards total victory. The series has garnered massive viewership, with Amazon confirming its commitment to five seasons despite the high production costs.
