Spider-Man: Brand New Day Almost Featured a Bizarre Marvel

Spider-Man: Brand New Day director Destin Daniel Cretton has revealed a sticky Marvel supervillain who was originally set to feature in the movie.

Cretton had initially planned for Paste-Pot Pete, a classic glue-shooting baddie from Marvel, to appear in the movie's introductory montage. The character, also known as Peter Petruski, first appeared in Marvel comics in 1962 and has a history of encounters with Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four.

Paste-Pot Pete shares similarities with Spider-Man in terms of abilities, such as shooting sticky adhesive to swing on ropes and webs. Despite not making the final cut, there's speculation about the character's potential appearance in future Spider-Man films.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day's success at the box office has solidified Tom Holland's future as the web-slinger. The movie's focus on Spider-Man's iconic traits and action-packed sequences has resonated well with audiences, hinting at the possibility of exploring unconventional villains like Paste-Pot Pete in future installments.
