Joshua Khane's account was compromised, leading to the loss of valuable data and purchases. After public backlash, Xbox Support has intervened to help him recover access to his account and purchases. While Khane received an apology and assistance, other users have reported similar issues with Microsoft's support responses.

Microsoft faced criticism for recent layoffs in its gaming division, affecting 1,600 employees. This led to studios like Double Fine and Compulsion Games going independent, while Ninja Theory and Undead Labs are being sold. Senator Bernie Sanders condemned the layoffs, especially considering Microsoft's significant profits and plans to increase Xbox console prices.
