According to MP1st, WayForward was involved in research and development for a Cyberpunk spin-off game named Project Gemini, described as a rollback-driven 2.5D beat-'em-up with online multiplayer features. The company also had an unannounced Unreal Engine 5 title in progress based on a licensed franchise, which was halted in September 2025. WayForward, known for games like River City Girls and the Shantae series, has a history of developing brawlers and licensed games.
On the other hand, CD Projekt Red is currently busy with Cyberpunk 2 and The Witcher 4, while the second season of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is scheduled to premiere on Netflix this fall.
