Warhorse Studios has officially confirmed that it's working on a Lord of the Rings game, as well as a new entry in its Kingdom Come series.
Warhorse Studios has announced that it is developing an open-world Middle-earth RPG, with more details to be revealed later. This news coincides with Embracer, the parent company of Warhorse Studios, making changes and acquiring Middle-earth Enterprises. Embracer has also introduced Fellowship Entertainment to explore external partnerships for major IPs like LOTR, Tomb Raider, Legacy of Kain, and Deus Ex.
Warhorse Studios, known for the success of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, is seen as a suitable developer for a Middle-earth game. Despite this, the studio faced criticism for alleged cost-saving measures involving AI and the reported dismissal of a developer, which Warhorse Studios has chosen not to address.
