Last month, Valve launched its Steam Controller and demand has far outweighed the supply.
Valve announced that new orders for the Steam Controller won't be fulfilled until at least 2027. The company reassured customers that production will continue, but the overwhelming response has led to significant delays. Valve will now provide estimated delivery windows based on order dates, ranging from September 2026 to 2027. Customers can check their order status on their Steam account.
Valve's reservation queue remains active, with notifications sent out when it's a customer's turn to purchase. To manage demand, customers have 72 hours to complete their order once notified. Despite positive reception, some users have reported rumble compatibility issues with certain games. Additionally, the Steam Controller features a unique cinematic scream sound effect when dropped.
Valve also addressed updates on other products, including a price increase for the Steam Deck due to supply chain challenges. The Steam Machine and VR headset Steam Frame are expected to launch this summer, although specific details on pricing and release dates are still pending.
