Universal Studios Honors Ozzy Osbourne with His Own Haunted House

Universal Studios theme parks in Hollywood and Orlando are paying tribute to the late great Ozzy Osbourne, giving the ‘Prince of Darkness’ his very own haunted house at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights.

Fans of Ozzy Osbourne can take a ride on the Crazy Train through a spine-tingling journey featuring music from the metal icon’s prolific solo career this spooky season. Described as a “living horror movie,” these completely original haunted houses are themed after Ozzy’s greatest solo hits, with songs from his post-Black Sabbath albums guiding guests through the chilling experience.

The ‘Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness’ houses are equal parts theme park attraction and a museum honoring his life and times, acting as a chronological trek through highlights of his discography with sets inspired by the iconic cover art of his most popular albums. Starting with ‘Crazy Train,’ park-goers will travel from dark dungeons and ancient ruins to Ozzy’s home in Birmingham, England, eventually finding themselves in the Osbourne Asylum, inspired by his album Diary of a Madman. They’ll also get treated to the singer’s various personas, including Madman Ozzy, Werewolf Ozzy, and, of course, The Prince of Darkness.

As per a press release from Universal Studios, the ‘Prince of Darkness’ haunted houses draw from the “heavier sound and sinister imagery that defined the later years of Ozzy’s career, transforming that creative evolution into a horrific journey through his unmistakably twisted imagination.” Osbourne’s wife and son, Sharon and Jack Osbourne, gave Universal their blessing, calling the haunted houses a “wonderful tribute” to the legendary ‘Crazy Train’ singer.
