Ubisoft Offers Free PC Copies to Xbox Owners of Select Games

Ubisoft is giving Xbox owners free access to some of their games on PC.

Ubisoft and Xbox have announced an expansion of their partnership, granting Xbox owners free access to certain games on PC through Ubisoft Connect until August 4th. The eligible titles include Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Far Cry 6, Immortals Fenyx Rising, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Riders Republic, Skull and Bones, The Crew 2, The Crew Motorfest, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Extraction, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege. These games will be added to players' Ubisoft Connect libraries by next week if their accounts are linked. If these games are later purchased on Xbox, they will automatically become available on PC. However, the offer does not work in reverse. If a game is bought on PC first, it will not be accessible on Xbox. This initiative particularly benefits players who have transitioned from console to PC.

Moreover, Ubisoft has introduced premium editions for various games, such as Assassin's Creed Shadows, on Xbox's PC app. Xbox has been increasingly focusing on the PC market, with recent moves like making select OG Xbox backward-compatible titles playable on PC. The company plans to add more titles in the future. Speculations suggest that Microsoft is developing a feature allowing players to digitize their physical game collections, possibly in preparation for the upcoming Xbox console. The next Xbox is anticipated to have more PC-like features, aligning with the current trend towards PC accessibility.
