Ubisoft Announces New Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Ghost Recon Games

Ubisoft has promised to release new Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry and Ghost Recon games all by the end of March 2029.

Ubisoft revealed its plans to launch new installments in the Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Ghost Recon series by the close of the 2028-29 financial year. The upcoming titles aim to provide a more diverse and robust content lineup, with Assassin's Creed Hexe slated for a 2027 release. Fans can anticipate a new Far Cry entry, following the 2021 release of Far Cry 6, and a return to the Ghost Recon series, which last saw a mainline release with 2019’s Breakpoint.

While highlighting the significance of franchises like Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Ghost Recon, Ubisoft also touched upon the performance of live service games such as Rainbow Six Siege, The Division 2, The Crew Motorfest, and For Honor. However, there was no mention of Beyond Good and Evil 2 or the Splinter Cell remake. Ubisoft did mention the cancellation of seven projects and the postponement of six others.

Despite facing challenges and a significant employee turnover, Ubisoft remains focused on revitalizing its operations, supported by a cash injection of €1.16 billion (approx. $1.35 billion) from Tencent. The company is gearing up for the release of Black Flag Resynced on July 9, which has garnered positive feedback from the community for its modernized presentation and enhanced gameplay, staying true to the original experience.
