Treyarch studio head Mark Gordon will be leaving the studio after 22 years.
Treyarch announced that Mark Gordon, the studio head, is departing after a long tenure. Yale Miller and Kevin Hendrickson will now serve as co-studio heads. Both Miller and Hendrickson have extensive experience with Activision and the Call of Duty series.
Gordon's departure follows David Vonderhaar, the studio design director, leaving Treyarch to establish his own studio. Treyarch's next Call of Duty game is not expected for two years, with Infinity Ward releasing Modern Warfare 4 this year and a possible new title from Sledgehammer Games next year.
There is uncertainty regarding Treyarch's plans for another Black Ops game. While Black Ops 6 succeeded, Black Ops 7 faced challenges. Rumors suggest re-releases of Black Ops 1 and 2 for modern platforms. Treyarch recently updated Black Ops 7 with a playlist called Black Ops Classic, hinting at potential re-releases.
