The game achieved impressive sales figures, with a global cumulative sell-through of over 3.8 million units within two weeks of its release on April 16.

The attention around Living the Dream is evident from the popularity it has garnered on platforms like Nintendo's official YouTube channel and Reddit. Many videos related to the game have accumulated hundreds of thousands to millions of views. Additionally, the game's subreddits, r/tomodachilife and r/TomodachilifeLivingTD, boast 1.7 million and 290,000 weekly visitors, respectively, showcasing the strong engagement from players.
