Tomb Raider Catalyst Delayed to 2028

Out of nowhere, the second major Tomb Raider game, Catalyst from developer Crystal Dynamics, has been stealthily delayed by Amazon Game Studios.

In a recent interview, Amazon Games' boss Jeff Gattis revealed that Tomb Raider Catalyst would no longer be released in 2027 as planned but would instead be coming out in 2028. This decision was made to allow Amazon Games Studios to concentrate on enhancing its streaming service, Luna. Gattis expressed the desire to establish Luna as a platform known for hosting popular titles like Tomb Raider and James Bond.

The delay of Catalyst follows the postponement of Legacy of Atlantis, another Tomb Raider project, to 2027. Crystal Dynamics is working on both games, with Flying Wild Hog assisting in the development of Legacy of Atlantis. Catalyst, the fourteenth installment in the Tomb Raider series, is a sequel to Tomb Raider: Underworld and continues Lara Croft's adventures after a mythical cataclysm.
