CD Projekt's newly-revealed The Witcher 3 expansion Songs of the Past will help set the stage for the upcoming The Witcher 4, the developer has suggested.
CD Projekt has unveiled a new expansion for The Witcher 3 titled Songs of the Past, which will not only tell a standalone story post-The Witcher 3 events but also serve as a prologue to The Witcher 4. Joint CEO Michał Nowakowski highlighted the expansion's role in maintaining fan engagement.
During a recent livestream, CD Projekt hinted at the expansion's focus, including Geralt's new third sword and the presence of Dandelion. The company's financial results for Q1 show revenue growth, with a significant portion of the team dedicated to The Witcher 4 and other projects like Cyberpunk 2 and Project Sirius.
CD Projekt's ambitious plan includes launching The Witcher 4, 5, and 6 within six years, making expansion content unlikely in the near future.
