The Sinking City 2 introduces a new story and protagonist, Calvin Rafferty, in a different sinking city, Arkham. The game shifts from open-world to survival horror action, offering a more focused experience. Calvin's quest to reunite with his partner, Faye, who exists as a spirit in a mask, adds depth to the narrative.
The sequel enhances investigation mechanics, allowing players to connect clues more intuitively. The game's world embraces science fiction elements, with futuristic devices and strange characters enhancing the cosmic horror atmosphere. While combat encounters are present, the focus remains on exploration and puzzle-solving, maintaining the series' distinct investigative gameplay.
