Amazon's Lord of the Rings prequel will return for its third season, with Sauron ruling over Middle-earth. The nine human rulers with rings have now become corrupted, depicted on their journey to becoming Ringwraiths. The showrunners have named these early versions Nazgnagôl, meaning 'Ring-servant,' inspired by Tolkien's original concept.
Two of the Nine, Witch-king of Angmar and Khamûl, the Black Easterling, will be featured in the upcoming season. Khamûl's character will explore themes of power and redemption. The series will likely intertwine various plotlines, including the halflings' subplot and Gandalf's adventures.
Celeborn, Galadriel's husband, will make an appearance in the next season, played by Jamie Campbell Bower. The show is set for five seasons, backed by Amazon's Jeff Bezos despite its high costs.
