Veteran actor Peter Sarsgaard will be playing the role of Amon, a leader of the Seraphites, an original character created for the show. Sarsgaard, known for his roles in various movies and TV shows, has over 70 acting credits to his name.

Craig Mazin is the sole showrunner for Season 3, with the story expected to focus on Abby and Ellie, played by Kaitlyn Dever and Bella Ramsey, respectively. Ramsey has expressed a desire to explore different roles post-The Last of Us. Meanwhile, rumors suggest that Naughty Dog may be working on The Last of Us: Part III, although this has not been officially confirmed as the company is currently focused on Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
