Owlcat Games announced plans to recast the male protagonist in The Expanse: Osiris Reborn after player complaints about his lack of emotion during the beta test.
Owlcat Games, the studio developing The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, revealed that they will be changing the voice actor for the male protagonist following feedback from players. The decision came after players expressed concerns about the lack of expressiveness in the current voice acting. The game allows players to create their own character and customize various aspects, with the male protagonist and a character named J receiving new voice actors.
While the feedback mainly focused on the need for dialogue and tone adjustments rather than specific actor performances, Owlcat Games acknowledged the importance of improving the overall player experience. The studio also mentioned reworking some of J's voice lines, regardless of the player's chosen gender. The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is set to release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X in the Spring of 2027.
