The Elder Scrolls Online Facing Content Delay to 2027 After Xbox

The Elder Scrolls Online is facing delays in content updates due to recent Xbox layoffs and restructuring.

The team behind The Elder Scrolls Online has confirmed that the game will continue despite organizational changes and departures. Game director Nick Giacomini reassured players that the focus remains on growing the game and providing new experiences. However, due to the restructuring at Xbox-owned studios, upcoming content such as the Crimson Veldt trial, class and combat refreshes, and update 52 have been postponed to 2027 to ensure quality standards are met.

Despite the delays, players can expect new stories, quests, and events in 2026, including a rumor system and quality of life upgrades. ZeniMax Online Studios is collaborating closely with Bethesda Game Studios on future projects, including The Elder Scrolls 6. Bethesda is also working on Fallout remasters and a new Fallout game, with pre-production underway for Fallout 5.

Overall, The Elder Scrolls Online remains committed to its player base and the future of the franchise, despite the setbacks caused by recent industry changes.
