Sydney Sweeney is set to star in a new Sleepy Hollow movie produced by Sony, based on Lindsey Anderson Beer’s novel 'Hollow.' Beer will write, direct, and produce the project, which is a streamlined adaptation of her debut novel set to release under Putnam in Fall 2027. Honey Trap, Sweeney’s production company, will co-produce alongside Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap, marking Honey Trap’s first film.

Beer, known for directing Pet Sematary: Bloodlines and writing 'Sierra Burgess is a Loser,' is adapting the Sleepy Hollow story to focus on Katrina Van Tassel, shifting the narrative to emphasize her character over the traditional love triangle. Sony is currently casting for the roles of Ichabod Crane and Brom Bones, with Sweeney reportedly playing Van Tassel.

This project comes after Sweeney’s success in 'The Housemaid,' which is set for a sequel after its box office triumph. Sony's acquisition of 'Hollow' was described as a competitive move by Deadline, showcasing the anticipation surrounding this reimagined classic.
