Despite being the Switch 2's leading launch game, Mario Kart World hasn't gotten much in terms of proper new content. But update 1.7.0 just dropped for the game, and it adds two Knockout Tour routes for players to burn rubber on.
Update 1.7.0 for Mario Kart World introduces two new Knockout Tour routes: the Drill Rally from Wario Shipyard to Bowser's Castle, and the Boomerang Rally from Salty Salty Speedway to Whistlestop Summit. Nintendo plans to include more routes in future updates, with six more already in the pipeline. While this update doesn't feature new tracks or expansions, the addition of Knockout Tour routes indicates ongoing support from Nintendo.
In addition to the new routes, version 1.7.0 brings a photo mode enhancement allowing players to add stickers to their pictures, supported by touchscreen and mouse controls for precise placement. Other changes include adjustments to item rates and gameplay mechanics. This update, highlighted by the new Knockout Tour routes, stands out as one of the most significant content additions for the popular Switch 2 game.
