Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Developers Share Industry

Two developers who worked on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League have given a transparent account of their experience working on the game.

Designer Johnny Armstrong and director Axel Rydby, former Rocksteady Studio employees, revealed their challenges in a recent interview. Armstrong expressed disillusionment with the industry post-Suicide Squad, feeling drained and questioning his future in gaming. Rydby highlighted the pressure to deliver a live-service game, deviating from Rocksteady's usual style.

Both developers have since departed Rocksteady to pursue new creative endeavors. They launched a Kickstarter for their RPG deckbuilder, Secret of Circadia, seeking $11,000 in funding. While Suicide Squad marked a departure from Rocksteady's acclaimed Arkham series, it served as a learning experience for the studio and Warner Bros.

Rumors suggest Rocksteady may return to Batman for their next project, albeit with a different creative team. The departure of key Arkham series talent signals a shift in the studio's direction, hinting at new gaming experiences on the horizon.
