Unknown Worlds Entertainment, the developer of Subnautica 2, is focusing on gameplay improvements in the upcoming updates before expanding the game world. Planned updates include enhancements to the game world, biomes, creatures, resources, tools, vehicles, and a new chapter in the game's story. The first update is set to introduce quality-of-life fixes to enhance the player experience.

Moreover, the 1.2 Early Access patch will bring improvements to co-op gameplay, such as voice chat, player trading, revives, and customization options.
