Street Fighter 6 is now three years old and still going strong, with more than 2,000 entrants at this year's Evo in Vegas, a fresh batch of new faces on the horizon in the upcoming fourth character pass (including the much anticipated figthing game debut of Tifa from Final Fantasy 7), and a lively online competitive scene.
IGN recently interviewed Director Takayuki Nakayama and Producer Shuhei Matsumoto at Evo 2026 to delve into the current state and future plans for Street Fighter 6. They clarified that while there is no confirmed 10-year life plan, they aim to keep the game evolving over a decade. Despite no future World Tour updates, the team is exploring ways to sustain the game's longevity beyond character additions.
Regarding single-player content, Nakayama assured fans of ongoing developments, although specific details remain under wraps. The team emphasized that the absence of World Tour updates won't directly impact DLC frequency or offerings due to differing skill requirements. Players can anticipate equal focus on creating new outfits for all characters and unique playstyles for upcoming DLC characters like Arjun, Tifa, and Bosch.
