Stellar Blade: Blood Rain Announced with Eye-Opening Trailer

This year’s Summer Games Fest brought a surprise in the form of a reveal of the next game from Stellar Blade developer Shift Up much sooner than.

Shift Up, the developer behind Stellar Blade, unveiled their next game, Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, during the Summer Games Fest. The game promises to continue the high-octane action of its predecessor, set in a dystopian cyberpunk world where the new protagonist battles grotesque monsters with stylish flair. Unlike the first game, which focused on swords, Blood Rain emphasizes melee combat, featuring the new character engaging in fisticuffs and even showcasing jiggle physics in a bold moment.

Shift Up has confirmed that Stellar Blade: Blood Rain is still in the early stages of development. Unlike its predecessor, which was a PS5 exclusive, this new entry will not be published by Sony. The developer plans to shift to a first-party service model to better market the game and convey the unique appeal of the Stellar Blade universe directly to players.
