Stellar Blade 2 Won't Be Published by Sony, Hinting at Multiplatform

The sequel to Stellar Blade won't be published by PlayStation, potentially signaling a multiplatform release.

The Korean company Shift Up has revealed that it will self-publish Stellar Blade 2, indicating a possible multiplatform launch for the game. The first installment was initially a PlayStation 5 exclusive before later coming to PC, blending gameplay elements from NieR: Automata and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

While fans hoped for Stellar Blade ports on platforms like the Switch, Shift Up has not confirmed any plans yet. However, the company mentioned exploring expansion to other platforms during an earnings presentation. The development of the sequel is progressing smoothly, with no set launch window at the moment.

Shift Up emphasized transitioning to a first-party service model for the upcoming title to enhance marketing strategies and engage with the Stellar Blade IP's unique universe more effectively. The company expressed confidence in the new game's success, citing improved results compared to its predecessor.
