Splatoon Raiders Adopts Monster Hunter Mechanics for Co-Op Play

The Splatoon Raiders Direct outlined the structure of the upcoming single-player-focused title, packed with challenging encounters against hordes of Salmonids.

The game introduces an online feature where solo players can seek support from others, similar to modern Monster Hunter games. Players can request help before a raid, with others able to join their lobby for assistance. Success rewards the helper with in-game bonuses, while failure results in lost loot. There's a cooldown period after a successful raid before seeking help again, resembling Monster Hunter's SOS Flare mechanic.

Splatoon Raiders allows teaming up with up to three players online or locally, with difficulty scaling accordingly. GameSpot's preview highlighted the synergy between players' builds and the potential for challenging multiplayer raids. The game is available for preorder on Amazon and is set to launch on July 23, alongside other major titles that month.
