Spider-Man: Brand New Day Box Office Success

Spider-Man: Brand New Day combined the power of Tom Holland and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) to bring in an estimated $927 million at the global box office during its opening weekend in theaters.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, exceeded expectations with a $927 million global box office debut, making it the biggest opening of the year so far. The movie earned $355 million domestically and $572 million internationally, setting records for Sony and Spider-Man movies but falling short of Avengers: Endgame's $1.2 billion global opening.

Despite coming in second to Endgame, Spider-Man: Brand New Day could potentially surpass it domestically as final weekend totals are calculated. The film also achieved milestones with the biggest preview and opening day sales. With the potential to be the highest earner of 2026, Spider-Man faces competition from Marvel's Avengers: Doomsday later this year.

Other movies like The Odyssey, Toy Story 5, Minions & Monsters, and Disney's Moana also contributed to the record-breaking domestic box office weekend, with Spider-Man leading the pack. The Odyssey, in particular, continues to perform well worldwide, nearing the $1 billion mark.
