Sony's Stricter Guidelines Impacting PlayStation Developers

Sony has been removing shovelware games from the PlayStation Store, implementing stricter guidelines affecting developers like Afil Games.

Sony's cleanup of the PlayStation Store involves enforcing new guidelines that have led to the termination of partnerships with developers. Brazil-based studio Afil Games is among those affected, with all its games set to be removed from the platform. Despite this, Afil Games expressed gratitude to PlayStation players for their support and announced plans to focus on other platforms like Xbox and Nintendo Switch.

Afil Games, known for casual puzzle titles like Chico's Delivery and Collie Call, is facing the consequences of Sony's crackdown on low-quality games. This move follows previous actions by Sony, such as removing over 30 questionable games in February 2025 and eliminating more than 1,000 titles from ThiGames in January 2026.
