Sony Confirms PS2 Games Coming to PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog

Sony revealed three classic PS2 games coming to PlayStation Plus Premium over the next three months and a day one Game Catalog title for PlayStation 5.

During the State of Play showcase, Sony announced the addition of three classic PS2 games to PlayStation Plus Premium in the coming months. Gitaroo Man will join the Premium tier on June 16, followed by Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy on July 28, and Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams on August 25. Additionally, Sony will introduce Jagex’s Runescape: Dragonwilds to the Game Catalog as a day one release for Premium and Extra in the fall, marking the RuneScape IP’s console debut.

Gitaroo Man, originally released in 2001 for the PS2 by Koei and iNiS, is a beloved rhythm video game where players embody U-1, a shy boy who transforms into the rock-god Gitaroo Man to battle cosmic enemies. Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, developed by Midway Games in 2004, is an action-adventure third-person shooter following Nick Scryer, an elite psychic soldier infiltrating a terrorist cult. Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams, launched in 2006 by Capcom, is the fourth main installment in the Onimusha series, focusing on demon-slaying adventures.

Sony recently increased the prices of the PS Plus subscription service for new customers, with adjustments across Premium, Extra, and Essential plans for both monthly and quarterly subscriptions. However, existing subscribers (excluding Turkey and India) are not affected by these changes unless they alter or renew their current subscription. The 12-month subscription cost remains unchanged despite the price adjustments.
