Slay the Spire 2 developer Mega Crit has removed Doormaker, an Act 3 boss, from the game in a new major patch.
Slay the Spire 2's developer, Mega Crit, has made a significant change by replacing the Act 3 boss, Doormaker, with Aeonglass in the latest patch v0.105.0 available on the beta branch on Steam. This decision follows ongoing review bombing campaigns due to balance changes, with Mega Crit aiming to address player frustrations and improve gameplay experience.
Mega Crit explained that Doormaker's mechanics were causing issues for certain playstyles, leading to the decision to remove it entirely and introduce Aeonglass as a replacement. The development team has also shifted to a bi-weekly patch release schedule to focus on more substantial updates and gather feedback from beta players for further improvements.
Additionally, the game now features The Bestiary, offering players a glimpse of upcoming monsters and their abilities. As Slay the Spire 2 remains in early access, players can expect more changes before its full release, including various balance adjustments detailed in the latest patch notes.
