September Games Release Schedule Altered Due to GTA 6 Launch

With GTA 6 launching in November, developers are trying to line up their releases in the months before and after it, and that's made September 2026 very busy.

One More Level has delayed the release of Valor Mortis from September 24 to October 13 to avoid the crowded September schedule. The decision was made to allow the game and players' wallets some breathing room amidst the influx of new game releases. The studio mentioned that the delay was anticipated, especially after the announcement of Control Resonant sharing the same release date.

The 19-day delay not only aims to alleviate the release congestion but also provides additional time for the studio to enhance the gameplay experience. Valor Mortis, a first-person action souls-like game featuring French actor Vincent Cassel as Napoleon, will launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with availability on Xbox Game Pass at release.

Other notable games set to release in September 2026 include The Blood of Dawnwalker (September 3), Marvel's Wolverine (September 15), Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave (September 17), Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV (September 17), Control Resonant (September 24), Silent Hill: Townfall (September 24), and Minecraft Dungeons II (September 29).
