Deadline reports that Sam Raimi, known for Evil Dead and Spider-Man, will direct a modern adaptation of William Goldman’s novel Magic. The film reunites Raimi with Mark Swift and Damian Shannon, writers of the popular horror comedy Send Help. Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Chair Adam Fogelson expressed excitement about Raimi's involvement, praising the script and Raimi's creative vision.
The original Magic, a 1978 film starring Anthony Hopkins, depicted a ventriloquist and his puppet. Roy Lee, known for producing It, is on board as a producer alongside Raimi.
