With the GTA 6 release date looming and preorders going live tomorrow, June 25, there are a number of fans who expect that the third trailer will release alongside the preorder launch.
If Rockstar follows its own precedent, the third trailer for GTA 6 may not appear this week at all. Rockstar's marketing history shows that trailers for previous games like GTA 5 and GTA 4 were not necessarily released in close proximity to preorder announcements. For GTA 6, fans might have to wait until the first week of July for a potential glimpse at the game, considering the significant gaps between previous trailer releases.
For instance, there was a 378-day gap between the first and second trailers for GTA 5, and a 168-day gap between the second and third trailers. However, for GTA 6, the gap between the first and second trailers has already surpassed these timelines, standing at 519 days. Despite this, there is still speculation that additional trailers could drop around the time of the preorder launch, based on Rockstar's varied marketing strategies observed with titles like Red Dead Redemption 2.
