Resident Evil Movie Star's Near-Death Experience During Filming

Zach Cregger, the director of the upcoming Resident Evil movie, revealed that the movie's star, Austin Abrams, nearly died filming a scene that ended up in the movie.

Zach Cregger, the director of the upcoming Resident Evil movie, shared at San Diego Comic-Con that the movie's star, Austin Abrams, had a near-death experience while filming a scene. The incident involved a 150-pound 'body-sized blood bag' that was dropped from a crane, narrowly missing Abrams. Cregger emphasized the risks involved in filming the practical sequence, which involved zombies leaping from buildings.

The director expressed pride in the teamwork and accomplishment of bringing his vision to life on screen, despite the dangerous incident. The Resident Evil movie, set to release on September 18, follows a storyline likened to The Lord of the Rings, with Abrams' character facing a perilous mission. Cregger likened the character's journey to Frodo's trek into Mordor.
