Rebecca Yarros revealed the title of her new book, Threshing Day, part of The Empyrean series, set to release on September 29, 2026. Initially teased without a title, the book garnered significant attention, climbing to #2 on Amazon after preorders opened in April. The official title reveal took place on Conscription Day, July 15, coinciding with a crucial event in the series where cadets strive to become dragon riders.
The book will feature 13 stories centered around fan-favorite characters during their Threshing Day, accompanied by 16 original full-color art pieces by Joe Requeza. Notably, Xaden's story, a highly requested character POV, will be included in the book and published on Yarros' website. While fans await book 4, Yarros continues to work on the next installment. The Empyrean series has gained immense popularity, leading to plans for a Fourth Wing TV series produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Michael B. Jordan’s Outlier Society.
