Potential Xbox Price Hike Looming for 2027

If you thought today's Xbox price hike was jaw-dropping, it appears that Microsoft is preparing for another one in the next year.

Following the June 25 announcement that Xbox consoles will increase worldwide by $100 and $150 starting August 1 (depending on the model), the company confirmed that 2027 (or maybe 2028) could see the cost of Xbox consoles going up one more time. Microsoft stated that console storage and memory prices have surged significantly, with expectations of further increases. This indicates a potential price hike for Xbox consoles in late 2027 or early 2028.

Microsoft had previously raised Xbox console prices in October 2025, with subsequent increases in May 2025 and October 2025. The company attributes these price adjustments to the impact of the ongoing chip shortage, which is affecting various tech sectors. The consecutive price hikes are raising concerns about the affordability and accessibility of game consoles.
