Poncle Games Expands with 'Evil Twin' DLC for Vampire Survivors

Vampire Survivors developer Poncle Games announced a new expansion called Legacy of the Bloodmoon, described as an 'evil twin' to the previous DLC. The update includes new characters, weapons, a large stage, and more music tracks.

Poncle Games revealed the upcoming release of Legacy of the Bloodmoon, an expansion for Vampire Survivors, during the Future Games Show Summer Showcase. This new DLC, referred to as an 'evil twin' to the existing Legacy of the Moonspell add-on, introduces 10 new characters, 16 weapons and evolutions, an extra-large stage, and additional music tracks. Moreover, Legacy of the Moonspell will receive new content and a price reduction, with an upcoming patch bringing fresh stages, characters, weapons, and Darkanas.

The expansion will first launch on PC via Steam before becoming available on other platforms at a later date. Poncle Games also unveiled the establishment of Survivaton, a new label dedicated to projects similar to Vampire Survivors, and the opening of a Japan branch. Survivaton, short for 'survive a ton,' will focus on internal projects inspired by Vampire Survivors, such as collaborations like Warhammer 40,000: Survivors, each aiming to introduce significant gameplay changes and content expansions. Additionally, Poncle Japan will manage local development initiatives and partnerships in Japan, connecting Poncle's global operations with Japanese players and creators.

Since its initial launch, Vampire Survivors has achieved remarkable success in the gaming industry. The game's early access on PC gained popularity due to its accessible gameplay and intricate systems, leading to the release of various expansions. Furthermore, Vampire Survivors has ventured into crossovers with renowned Konami IPs like Contra and Castlevania. Earlier this year, Poncle Games introduced Vampire Crawlers, a survival-based take on roguelike deckbuilders that received positive feedback from both players and critics.
