Pokémon Winds and Waves Starter Creatures May Debut First in Pokémon

Fans may not have to wait until 2027 for the debut of Pokémon Winds and Waves' lovable starter Pokémon.

The Gen 10 trio — monobrowed Grass-type bird Browt, flame-furred Fire-type dog Pombon and sneaky-looking Water-type lizard Gecqua — were all revealed at the end of the first Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves trailer. The trailer also confirmed that the 10th generation of Pokémon games will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. However, Pokémon Go fans are now speculating that the debut of Browt, Pombon, and Gecqua may happen sooner than expected.

According to a thread on top Pokémon Go fan reddit TheSilphRoad, datamining has hinted at the possibility of the new starter creatures joining the game in the future, along with content for upcoming events. While it's common for new generation Pokémon to appear in Pokémon Go around the time of their mainline game launches, the early data on these three species potentially debuting in the game is surprising, especially if Pokémon Winds and Waves won't be released until late 2027.

If the trio does arrive in Pokémon Go earlier than anticipated, it would be a significant event for both the game and the Pokémon franchise.
