After three years of calling New Orleans, Louisiana the home of the Pokémon North America International Championships (NAIC), the ever-growing tournament and event is moving to McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois in 2027.

The news was announced during the closing ceremonies of the Pokémon NAIC in New Orleans. Chris Brown, The Pokemon Company’s (TPCi) Director, Global Esports and Events Producer, expressed excitement about the move, highlighting Chicago's world-class status. TPCi considers factors like geographical accessibility and space for growth when selecting event locations, with Chicago meeting all their criteria.

Chicago's O'Hare International Airport offers direct flights from a vast number of airports worldwide, making it an ideal choice for an international event like Pokémon NAIC. The tournament has seen significant growth in attendance, prompting the need for a larger venue.
