Palworld Reaches 40 Million Players After 2.5 Years

Palworld has achieved an impressive player milestone 2.5 years after its early access launch and with the 1.0 release right around the corner.

Developer Pocketpair announced that Palworld has surpassed 40 million players, with the 1.0 version scheduled for release on July 10. Despite the 40 million player milestone, it does not equate to 40 million copies sold as the game is also accessible through console subscription services like Game Pass.

Since its launch in January 2024, Palworld has experienced a successful Early Access period, setting sales and concurrent player number records. Pocketpair quickly responded to the game's profitability by forming Palworld Entertainment in collaboration with Sony to expand the IP and releasing the game on PS5.

Following Palworld's popularity, comparisons were drawn between Palworld’s Pals and Pokémon, leading to patent discussions with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. Pocketpair expressed gratitude to the Palworld community for their support over the past 2.5 years and assured existing players that they can retain their saves for the 1.0 update.
