Palworld’s hotly anticipated 1.0 update launches this week, on July 10, and now developer Pocketpair has narrowed the release timing down, while issuing existing players an official recommendation on whether they should wipe their data for it.
Palworld 1.0 by Pocketpair is set to launch around midday on July 10, Japan time, with an estimated time of 12.30pm. John “Bucky” Buckley, Pocketpair's communications director, emphasized that this is not the exact launch time in a Discord post.
Existing Palworld players are advised by Bucky that they do not need to wipe their data for the 1.0 update, but it is recommended for the best experience due to significant changes in mechanics and content. The game has seen massive success since its early access launch, prompting Pocketpair to expand the IP through a new business venture with Sony called Palworld Entertainment.
Palworld has faced comparisons to Pokémon, leading to legal issues with Nintendo and The Pokémon Company. Despite this, the 1.0 update for Palworld promises extensive changes and additions, with Bucky teasing 27 pages of patch notes.
