Surprise! Nintendo has announced free-to-start Pictonico, a new mobile game that uses your phone's photo library to generate mini-games.
Pictonico integrates your photos and turns them into 80 minigames. Nintendo described various mini-games scenarios like school sports stars on the red carpet, helping a hungry boss, and more. The game, launching on May 28th, allows players to turn their photos into fun mini-games!
If Pictonico reminds you of WarioWare games, you're not alone. Similar to WarioWare, Pictonico offers short mini-games with varying difficulties. While some games are free-to-start, additional 'volumes' can be purchased for $5.99 to $7.99. Pre-orders are available now for the game on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
Nintendo's Pictonico is part of the company's strategy to expand its game offerings on both mobile and console platforms. The late Nintendo CEO's vision for mobile games was to promote Nintendo's IPs to a wider audience, focusing on brand awareness rather than just revenue.
