Nintendo has released a system software update for the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, updating both consoles to Version 22.0.5. The update includes new language options for text-to-speech on the Switch 2 and additional eShop features on the original Switch. The eShop layout for the older console has been redesigned to improve navigation, offering users the ability to customize the theme color to dark mode and set up an access PIN for security.
Users can now skip forward or backward by 10 seconds while watching trailers in the eShop or the News section on the original Switch. Nintendo also recently unveiled its release schedule for 2026 during a Nintendo Direct broadcast, featuring upcoming exclusives such as Star Fox, Rhythm Heaven Groove, Splatoon Raiders, Fire Emblem Fortune’s Weave, and Nintendo Switch Sports: Resort. Additionally, a remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is expected to launch before the end of 2026.
