Next God of War Game to Follow Laufey's Story

Santa Monica Studio head of creative Cory Barlog has announced that the next Kratos-led God of War game is coming after God of War Laufey, and connects directly to her story.

Confirmation of the upcoming God of War game came during the God of War Laufey panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026, as reported by IGN. The new God of War Laufey is set to be released on February 16, 2027, but details about the subsequent Kratos-led game remain scarce. Barlog expressed his desire for an expansive world with unexpected characters in the Faye game, setting the stage for future developments.

Despite mixed reactions to God of War Laufey, Santa Monica Studio remains committed to telling more stories featuring Kratos.
