Aardman Animations and The Pokémon Company shared artwork and story information for their upcoming stop-motion series, Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu, during an Aardman panel at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. The revealed image showcased the main characters, Sirfetch'd and Pichu, along with an official synopsis teasing an adventure through the Galar region, set to premiere in 2027.
The series follows the journey of Sirfetch'd and Pichu as they embark on a quest to assist and safeguard Pokémon in the Galar region. Despite facing unexpected challenges, their noble actions strengthen their bond as they navigate through peril, form alliances, and encounter various Pokémon, promising an entertaining and humorous storyline.
Pokémon Tales: The Misadventures of Sirfetch’d & Pichu, set to debut in 2027, was further elaborated on by The Pokémon Company's director of animation, Phil Rynda, and Aardman's chief creative director Sarah Cox at the event. Attendees were treated to exclusive insights, pilot footage, and details on the utilization of stop-motion techniques to craft a unique narrative within the Pokémon universe.
