Capcom has quietly launched a new minigame called 'Leon Must Die Forever' for Resident Evil Requiem, offering players a roguelike experience with levels, enemies, weapons, and abilities. The goal is to defeat Victor, the final boss, progressing through levels in chronological order from Wrenwood to Raccoon City. Players can face tougher enemies but earn better gear by completing challenges, with death being permanent in this mode. The new content is accessible from the main menu after completing the main campaign. Despite expectations for a Mercenaries mode, Capcom surprised fans with this new gameplay.
Capcom has hinted at an upcoming story add-on for Resident Evil Requiem, expected to introduce more characters like Ada Wong and Chris Redfield. The game's success, with 7 million copies sold, has led to an increased profit forecast for the year. IGN praised the game's blend of survival horror elements, giving it a 9/10 rating in their review.
