Netflix has unveiled the real dog set to portray Scooby-Doo in the upcoming series Scooby-Doo: Origins. This marks the first time the iconic character will be depicted as an actual dog in the franchise's history. The show will feature Mckenna Grace as Daphne Blake, Tanner Hagen as Shaggy Rogers, Abby Ryder Fortson as Velma Dinkley, and Maxwell Jenkins as Fred Jones.
The series follows Shaggy and Daphne as they investigate a mysterious case involving a Great Dane puppy at camp. Together with Velma and Freddy, they delve into a supernatural murder mystery that unravels their secrets. Scooby-Doo: Origins is executive produced by Josh Appelbaum, Scott Rosenberg, and others, with production currently underway in Atlanta, GA. The show is slated for a 2027 release.
