Neon Genesis Evangelion, the iconic anime series directed by Hideaki Anno, is set to premiere on the Criterion Channel on September 1st. The show, known for its postapocalyptic setting where teenagers control giant robots to protect humanity, delves into themes of identity, trauma, and human connection. The series, along with the films The End of Evangelion and Evangelion Death (True)², will be available on Criterion, distributed by GKIDS.
The original Neon Genesis Evangelion series from 1995-1996 will be offered in both Japanese and the Classic English dub, a first for streaming platforms.
