Monster Fantasy Blends Monster Hunter Action with Animal Crossing

I wouldn’t have thought that the Venn diagram representing fans of the beast-slaying Monster Hunter series and lovers of Animal Crossing’s cosy community-building would have too much overlap, but promising action-RPG Monster Fantasy may well prove me wrong.

Monster Fantasy is an action-RPG that combines the thrill of Monster Hunter with the cozy chill of Animal Crossing. The game features adorable Chibi-style character designs set in detailed biomes like rolling hills and volcanic areas. Players can choose from four character classes - warrior, swordsman, archer, and mage - each with unique abilities that can be switched on the fly by changing weapons. The full game will include over 50 monster types, with the demo showcasing battles against bosses like a squirrel, rhino beetle, and griffin.

Combat in Monster Fantasy varies depending on the chosen class, from blocking and performing perfect guards as a warrior to dodging and summoning doppelgangers as a swordsman. The archer delivers homing arrows, while the mage can hover in the air and cast elemental spells. Players can capture defeated monsters to use as mounts and gather crafting materials from their remains for weapon and armor upgrades.

After battles, players return to a village where they can customize and expand the settlement, interact with NPCs, and complete quests. The game promises a relaxing atmosphere with a diverse range of activities and interactions, including customizing the village layout and observing the unique personalities and hobbies of each villager.
