Milly Alcock Wears Supergirl Cape Made from Christopher Reeve's

When Milly Alcock makes her standalone debut as Kara Zor-El in Supergirl later this month, she'll do so while wearing portions of the material used for the cape Christopher Reeve wore in Superman.

Alcock confirmed that her red cape in the film was crafted using material from the original Superman cape worn by Reeve in the 1978 movie. The tribute extends to other Superman adaptations, with references to Reeve's legacy in the upcoming Supergirl movie. The 2025 Superman film will also pay homage to the original with a score inspired by John Williams' theme and a cameo by Reeve's son.

Supergirl, set to premiere on June 26, 2026, will incorporate elements from Reeve's iconic portrayal of Superman. While subtle, these nods to the past highlight the lasting impact of the 1978 movie on the superhero genre and its subsequent adaptations.
